Education

I was educated at Westminster School, then won a scholarship to Christ Church, Oxford, to read Modern Languages.

I studied Russian and German for the first year, but graduated in French and German. I spent my third year in Germany, teaching English in Munich. Combining languages and teaching is what I like doing!

My second degree is in Theology (naturally I chose to include modules in Greek and Hebrew!) followed by postgraduate training in Applied Linguistics and Inter-Cultural Communication.

Trinity Certificate in TESOL (almost identical to the CELTA qualification).


Work Experience

Varied, including retail, motor mechanics, 14 years working in Africa as a Linguist/ Community Development worker, B2B Marketing in DACH area and France, Customer Experience Evaluation, teaching teenagers and adults.

Specialities

Linguistics, especially Phonetics.

Cross-cultural communication.

Excellent language skills: fluent French and German, conversational Arabic (African dialect). Able to learn other languages quickly.

Public Speaking and Presentations.

Interests

I like photography and music - I play the trumpet in a local orchestra and sing in two choirs.
